Hua-Dong Yao
Fluid dynamics for quieter, cleaner transport and marine energy.
Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology (Division of Marine Technology and Division of Fluid Dynamics). My group studies fluid mechanics, aeroacoustics, fluid-structure interaction, and computational methods for ships, aircraft, trains, and renewable energy.

Renewable Energy
Wingsails, offshore wind, wave energy, and wind-assisted ships.

Flow-Induced Acoustics & Noise Mitigation
Aircraft, vehicles, trains, and fans - predicting and reducing flow noise.

Fluid-Structure Interaction
Aero- and hydro-elasticity, biomechanics, and tribology.

Next-Generation Simulation
Turbulence modeling, lattice Boltzmann on GPU, quantum and ML methods.
